Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University offers many opportunities for its students. Through research and in-field experience, students can gain a diverse learning experience in and out of the classroom. The professors strive to connect with their students and form genuine student-teacher relationships. Virginia Tech is also home to the Corps of Cadets, the military student body of Virginia Tech. This program offers opportunities for students who want to pursue extended service in the military after graduation. Additionally, students have many options to get involved in extracurriculars. Students can learn more about the available options at an annual event, Gobblerfest, held on the second Friday of every school year. Non-student athletes can still get involved in Hokie athletics. Students can attend and cheer on various sporting events at Tech. The Virginia Tech football team is known to draw fans from not only the Blacksburg area but from across the state. Devoted Hokies enjoy weekend games and will often drive hours in order to attend these games at Lane Stadium. Overall, Virginia Tech offers students numerous opportunities so students have a well-rounded experience during their four years of college.
